Like the CEO of BP who 'single handedly' caused the oil spill in the Mexican Gulf a few years ago. Obama then hit BP for Billions, BP lost two thirds of it market value and the CEO was reported sailing on a fancy yacht.
So it must be him, the bad guy. Of course we all know better than him. We would at least not have been on that yacht. We do not understand the issues behind running an oil company worldwide but anyway...
But a guy who sails on a yacht when the spill is happening must be an idiot and thus probably the responsible for it all. Well, he got axed.
Many pensioners in UK and US then had to fear for their pensions (a bit) because their pension funds invested in BP which is too big a global company not to invest in.
BP looks for and provides us with the oil we need daily. Just like the others big oil companies.
We need them to do that, we pay them to do that each time we fill our tanks. We expect them to do thatas cheaply as possible. We blame them each time the prices get higher, never mind that our governments make most of that money (guess why: for us).
So they cut some corners, neglected the highest safety standards, got some really bad luck and there you go! I guess they could have been better at handling it in the beginning, but yeah, that would not have avoided the disaster either.
For sure there will be and there are more such disasters.
At least we have a scape goat blame.
